Scorpius found himself wandering out onto the grounds on a sunshine-y day, basking in the light. He was pale as could be, and knew he could use the sunlight. It was never as warm as it had been in Marseille. The sun is Marseille could be used to cook eggs on the pavement, if someone wanted to. That was why it had almost always been the perfect weather for sailing. Being out on the open water, in that kind of heat, with the spray of the ocean hitting you straight in the face...it was a wonderful feeling. He shook his head slightly, though. He hadn't been to France since he was ten. He was being slightly foolish, thinking of his memories there. He knew that the minute he hit the age of seventeen, he was getting his apparating liscense and going all the way to France. Yes, he knew, it was a crazy plan, but his birthday was only a couple of months away, and the thought of that alone made him smile.
Not that it took a lot to make Scorpius smile. Even though he was a Malfoy, he had done something that no other Malfoy had done before. He had gotten sorted into a house other than Slytherin. He had been sorted into Hufflepuff. Oh, he still remembered the day when his father had found out, and he still remembered the owl he had recieved, and the howler after that one that he had gotten that night. He knew he'd never forget it. Well, it wasn't like he could forget it. He wasn't alowed to. All the time, his father was bringing up the fact that he had been sorted into Hufflepuff. And when he said all, he meant -all-. It was almost impossible to get through one conversation without the two of them starting to yell at each other, start a whole 'nother set of drama, and then bring up his house. Almost impossible. And that almost, was stretched very, very, very thinly. Scorpius pushed the thoughts from his head, though. Today wasn't a day to wallow on stupid thoughts. No, it was a day for relaxation, and probably a game of make-shift Quidditch with a few of his housemates.
Yeah, the whole time-turner thing had freaked him out, and sure, he was meeting people that he never had before, and maybe, he was taking it a lot easier than most, but he couldn't find it in himself to get all hyped up. He was sure that the Ministry would take forever to fix it, because almost none of them were capable of doing anything right, so why live day to day, waiting for them to fix it? He'd have fun in this era, relax, and try to deal with all the drama coming his way, from his own era, and from the other eras. He knew that him being a Malfoy and in Hufflepuff caused a whole ton of problems and, if after six years, his own era hadn't gotten used to it, then why would the three others get used to it in a few days? It was a completely unrealistic thought. Scorpius made it out to the Black Lake, and smiled as the sun hit him full-on. He laid down in the grass, staring up at the sky, and watching the clouds pass by. He watched as they changed shape, drifting slowly, and rolled his eyes as the sun went back and forth, from shining brightly to being covered by a stray cloud. He couldn't help but enjoy the weather. He hoped no one annoying would disturb his peace, but he doubted that his wish would be granted. It was hard, with the people that were at Hogwarts right now, that he knew.

Lily was laying in her bed, staring up at the ceiling. It seemed like she might be the only one who realized how bad this time thing was. She turned her head as someone came in, and decided that her peace was ruined now. She sat up, and decided to head to her favorite place in the whole castle. The lake. For some reason, the water calmed her. She loved water, and all it's wonders. Being near the water, made her remember the past, when her parents would take her to the beaches. Or when she'd visit her aunt Fleur, and Uncle Bill, and play at the beach there. However, at Hogwarts there weren't any beaches, with sand. It was just a drop off into water.
Lily left the castle, and headed down towards the lake. She knew it was forbidden to swim there, but she couldn't help it! She loved swimming, actually what she really wanted to do was surfing. When she went on vacation to Hawaii, she learned how to surf. Except, she could only do it when someone else was there to start the wave with magic, and nobody would do it for her. As she got closer, she saw a familiar blond, she recognized him immediately as Scorpius Malfoy. The stature was all Scorpius. Truthfully though, she had mistaken his father, Draco Malfoy, for him several times, but it wasn't that bad, because she was too afraid to say anything. But this, was no mistaking it, it was Scorpius. She walked closer with a smile, swallowing her uneasiness. "Enjoying the sun?" She asked, looking down at him. It wasn't that hard to mistake him for his father. The way they were built was different, and so was the bone structure, but other than that, there were few differences, and from far away, it was easy to miss them. He was more his mother in the way he was built, more in that elegantness than sharpness, though the sharpness of feautures could be found in the face. He had always heard that he was handsome, from everyone that he had met that had offered him a compliment. It, according to his father, was just a Malfoy-borne trait, but he had just thought that his father was cocky. Well, not thought. More like knew. Even though Scorpius wasn't at all a judgemental person, he still couldn't deny the fact that his father was arrogant. He'd have to be outright lying if he didn't admit that fact.
He had closed his eyes, and was just enjoying the feeling of the sun on his face, when he felt the sun blocked. He opened his eyes, expecting to see a cloud or something, but in fact, seeing someone's face. A face with a voice. He shook his head slightly, and then turned to look at her, now sitting up. He recognized her -how could someone not recognize her from his era?- as Lily Potter, daughter of the 'Chosen One'. He had only found out about the whole thing when he had come here, for History of Magic, and found out the whole story. Draco had never talked about the war, and it wasn't as big a story as it still was in England. He knew that his father was just hiding behind the mistakes that he had made when he was younger, and so, had never spoken about it at home. When he heard, and processed, her question, he couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, I am. Isn't it beautiful out here?" He asked, his French accent audible in his voice.
Born and mostly-raised in France, and speaking the language as a first instead of a second, did have an impact on his voice. French came to him like breathing, and English came three-quarters as easy. His accent, though, could not be helped.Even though it had softened over the past almost-seven years, he was glad it was still there. He was proud of being a born French person, just like most of the other Hogwarts students were proud of being English, or in some cases, Irish. He looked at her. "I'm Scorpius Malfoy...but you probably knew that already." He said, without an ounce of cockiness. "And you're Lily Potter, of course. I think our reputations speak for us, at this moment in time." He said, and chuckled slightly. "Come out to enjoy the weather?" Scorpius asked, and waited for an answer.

Lily smiled, taking a seat next to him, on the ground. It was nice to talk to someone who was from her own time. And Scorpius Malfoy fell right under that category. She smiled as she heard him speak. She hadn't really had a chance to really notice that he had a French accent. But now that she heard it, she loved it. It sounded great with him. "Yeah it is. Perfect weather actually." She said, looking up the sky. She lifted her arm to shield her eyes from the sun, however. She laughed when he introduced himself, and then said her name.
"Yeah, I'm Lily. And I do know who you are, my dad seems to enjoy telling me about your father." She thought about his question. "I guess. Mostly, I came out here to enjoy the water. I know it's completely against the rules, but I can't help but feel safer around water." She said, looking out at the lake. "I didn't know you had a French accent." She said, with a smile. "Have you ran into your parents yet?" She asked, remembering how she talked to her mother yesterday. "You know though, reputation doesn't necessarily mean truth." She said, with a smile. Scorpius smiled. It really was perfect weather. He hoped that it would stay like this for a while, because this kind of weather in Scotland was rare. It was more common to find an overcast, or rain of some sort. The sun was something that was treasured by the Hogwarts students, and he, over the years, had gotten used to not having as much sun. When he had been in Marseille, he had been quite tan, because he had been outside all day, and the sun was just that strong. He didn't burn, though, and he thanked whatever was higher up for that. Because if he did, then it would've been a big problem all his life, and it would've been a horrible thing to try and keep track of, with putting on sunscreen and all of that.
"Yeah, everyone enjoys telling someone about my father." He said with an eyeroll. "And, of course, it would be something bad. I don't blame your dad, though. There's not much good to say about my dad." He said, grinning slightly to let her know that there were no hard feelings because of the prejudice between the two families. It was neither of their faults that their families hated each other. "Yeah, reputations can definitely be off. Especially mine, when I first came to Hogwarts." He said. And it was true; everyone had thought that he'd be a mini-Draco...well, until he was sorted into Slytherin. And even then, people were still suspicious.
"That's fine. I love being by the water, always have. I feel...safer, I guess you could say, by the water, too. I grew up around a port, so that would explain it." He said, with a slight chuckle. And when she said that she didn't know that he had a French accent, he couldn't help but let out another laugh. "I was born and raised in France...well, until my parents' divorce. Then my father picked us up and moved us to England. I was supposed to attend Beauxbatons, but my father didn't want me to...hence the divorce." He said with an eye roll. "I would've rather stayed in France, though. The ocean was...the only way to describe it would be to call it breathtaking. And being out on it on the boats...it was amazing." He said, with a smile that could let someone know that he was remembering. "Why do you feel that way about the water?" Scorpius asked, wanting to know what her reasoning was.
((ooc; lol, mine suck, too. but yours' aren't bad. )

Lily noticed that he seemed a bit upset by her mentioning his father. "Sorry, I didn't know.." She apologized. She didn't really think it was all that great that he thought there was nothing good to say about his father. She felt.. sad, sad for him. She laughed when he mentioned him coming to Hogwarts, she heard from James that when Albus, Rose, and Scorpius were called up, the entire school went silent. Mostly for Albus, just like they had been with Lily and James. "I heard that everyone was shocked when you were sorted into Hufflepuff. James said that everyone was silent while they tried to figure out how it happened." She listened to him talk about how he felt around the water. She felt, almost exactly the same way about it. "You did?" She asked when he said he grew up around a port. Her surprise grew when he said he was born and raised in France. And that his parents were divorced. "Beauxbatons? My aunt Fleur went there. My mother hated her for awhile because my father was in love with her, or something. My uncle Ron was the same way, which made my Aunt Hermione really jealous." She said with a laugh. She bit her lip, realizing that she was talking too much about herself. She tried not to let it show on her face when he said he would've rather'd stayed in France. If he had stayed she wouldn't have met him.
"Why didn't you stay? Why not stay with your mom, instead of going with your dad?" She asked. She hadn't had any experiences with divorce, luckily. Although, lately it seemed like her parents were often fighting, at least it was like that over the summer. She shrugged when he asked why she felt that way about the water. "I don't know, me and my parents and brothers went to Hawaii, and I learned how to surf there, it was the best experience of my life.. I guess it's because my parents started fighting that trip, and when I went to the beach, I just felt like their problems didn't hit me anymore, like if I stayed, I wouldn't be affected by their drama." She had no idea why her parents fought, but she didn't really want to know either. She bit her lip harder, why was she so nervous when talking to Scorpius? He'd never done anything to make her nervous before. WORD COUNT;; 4 - 0 - 9 TAGGING;; Scorpius Malfoy OUTFIT;; i die each time, you look away. NOTES;; Okay, I like this length better. Scorpius shook his head slightly. "Nobody does. It's not something that's spread around. So...feel worthy I shared the information with you." He said in a joking tone. He could see in her eyes that she felt pity for him. That was why he told no one about anything that went on in his life. He hated pity. There were a lot more people that needed it, but he didn't. All it would do was...nothing. Pity did nothing to help the situation.
He couldn't help but snort when she mentioned his sorting. "It was probably the most awkward moment of my life. I get up there, most people are expecting me to go into Slytherin, and the Hat takes less than a second to call out Hufflepuff. The whole Hall was silent when I got down, and the Slytherins didn't clap at all. They looked sick to their stomachs. And the rest of them just clapped slowly, and didn't even wait until I sat down." He said. "The funny thing was that I didn't know anything about my whole line being in Slytherin, or anything. I found that out in History of Magic." He said. "And it's definitely weird to find out about your whole family history from someone you've never met before." Scorpius said with an eye roll. It was seriously weird.
He raised an eyebrow when she mentioned the name Fleur. "Fleur? As in...Monsieur Delacour, the under to the French Minister? His daughter's name is Fleur. Half-veela, right?" He asked, his accent heightening slightly on the names and words in his native tongue. "Her family's really prominent in France." He said. He found her stories interesting, but he had heard most of them from Albus already. Albus, of course, being her older brother, and his best friend. He saw her bite down on her lower lip, and wondered why she seemed so nervous. He was sure that she didn't believe in all those stupid stories about the Malfoys, and the only reason he said that was because Albus didn't, and they were all raised the same way, so...she didn't either. At least, that was what he thought.
"I was never offered the choice. Plus, my mom didn't want me. She remarried a few months after we left, anyway. I saw the owl my father left on his desk." He said. That had always been a sore spot for him, because he had always thought that his mother had loved him more than his father did, but it had become clearer and clearer since they left that she had wanted nothing to do with him, and that she had had him just to continue on the Malfoy line. "It doesn't matter, anyway. That was almost seven years ago. But the minute I hit seventeen, I'm going to go back. Not permanently, of course, but just back to Marseille. I miss it there." He said, and then shrugged. "Then again, anyone would. I'd hate to go by myself, though. I'm probably going to drag along your brother." He said with a slight laugh. He didn't know if Albus would willingly go, but he didn't mind forcing him against his will. He went along with whatever Albus wanted to do all the time, so if he had to call in a favor, he would.
"Oh. Well, that makes perfect sense." He said. And it did. He hated hearing his parents fight, because they'd yell to all hours of the morning. To escape, he'd head outside. When he wasn't allowed to for that year, though, he had nearly gone insane with the stupidity of his parents. Scorpius watched as she bit down on her lip, and had to comment. "You're going to make it bleed if you continue to bite down on your lip so hard." He said, with a slight grin. He was used to hearing his best friend make comments like that all the time, and, even though he wasn't usually the smart-mouth out of the pair, he did have his moments. Scorpius waited for her response, wondering what she'd say in, probably, a defense of her habit.
((occ; poor albus. xD being dragged against his will into a whole new country. XD))

Lily smiled, even if he was joking she still felt.. well a little worthy that he told her about his family. She didn't usually go blabbing on about her family drama either, but that was mostly just because she didn't think anyone would want to hear it, then again, the Potters were supposed to be perfect, and well they weren't. Nobody was perfect. That was one thing that Lily hated about being a Potter, was everyone expected them to be perfect. They were no where near perfect. She pulled her knees up to her chest and looked at Scorpius as he talked about the sorting ceremony. "That does sound weird, I couldn't imagine how it must have felt to hear that." She said. She nodded in response to his question about her Aunt Fleur. "Yep, that's the one. Her kids inherited her abilities as well." She said with a laugh. She didn't know much about her family, well besides her immediate family, which was her parents and brothers. "I see.." She said with a laugh when he said that Fleur's family was prominent in France. She didn't really like talking about her family, it seemed, at least to her, that she was 'bragging'.
Lily frowned at his words. "Well, that's rubbish." She said, feeling immediate dislike for his mother. She laid her head on her arms over her knees as she listened. She laughed when he said he would drag her brother along, well since it seemed that James and Scorpius didn't get along, he must have meant Albus. “Somehow I don’t believe my parents would be too thrilled about that.” She said with a small grin. She didn’t have much of a doubt that Albus would refuse his best friend, but still..
She narrowed her eyes, and looked at the lake, choosing to ignore her habit of biting her lip when she was nervous. She’d always had it, mostly because the pain she felt distracted her from the thing she was nervous about. “Sorry um.. Subject change?” She asked, as her mind went through many differnet things that they could talk about, rather than this. “Okay, Scorpius, I have something I want to tell you.." She said slowly, trying to figure out how to word it exactly. WORD COUNT;; 3 - 7 - 6 TAGGING;; Scorpius Malfoy OUTFIT;; i die each time, you look away. NOTES;; Okay, I like this length better. Scorpius could understand why someone wouldn't want to go talking about their family, but with Lily...he didn't know. He felt like he could tell her anything, sort-of just like he felt around Albus. But with Al, it was more in a best-friend way, not like...he was talking to his best friend's sister that he was taking interest in. He knew he'd face hell with Albus once he found out, or if this was taken anywhere, and he was kind of nervous, because Albus was seriously over-protective when it came to his family, especially his cousins, but even deeper than that, Lily. If Lily was hurt, Albus would be out for blood, that, Scorpius knew for sure.
"Sorry. I used to hear about the Delcaours all the time. They're just sort-of...in your face, over there." He said, chuckling slightly at his choice of wording. He didn't know how to say it. His father used to talk about them all the time, because he used to do business with them all the time. It wasn't a name he had heard recently, though, and so he had been a little surprised. Albus had never mentioned them being family, and Scorpius had mentioned the name before...oh well, it didn't matter much. When he heard her say that that was rubbish, he held back a snort. His family situation wasn't the best, and could use a lot of improving. His childhood hadn't been the best, but there had been some parts that he wouldn't have changed for the world.
When he heard that her parents wouldn't be thrilled about him dragging Albus cross-continent, he grinned. "They'll be fine. They already hate me because I'm a Malfoy, might as well give them a reason, no?" He asked. Albus had really been rubbing off on him lately. He would beat him up about it later, though. Albus was barely a crossing thought in his mind, at the moment. He was more focused on Lily. And that wasn't like him at all. He was a person that focused, yes, but he had a short attention span, and if you didn't catch it, well, you were screwed.
He raised his eyebrow, when she changed the subject, with those literal words. When she said that she had to tell him something, his eyebrow only inched a little bit higher. She had to tell him something? They didn't know each other too well, so it wasn't like she'd be telling him a secret. If she did, he'd be fine with it, and he'd keep it, but he doubted that that was what this was about. "Sure, what is it?" He asked, and waited for her to speak, not knowing what to expect.
((ooc;; that was crap...lol. sorry. and scorpy...he's so oblivious. in a lovable way. but still oblivious. <3 xD))

Lily laughed and pushed her hair behind her ear. It felt weird, sitting here talking to Scorpius, but that was probably because of Albus. If Albus knew how she felt towards Scorpius, he might have a fit or something. Lily laughed again. "I just, well we don't really have a close relationship with them. They're more of in the, extended family, category." She said, shrugging. It didn't really bother her, having a huge family. It made for some interesting family get-togethers, as there were so many people. Lily smiled. She laughed once again.
"Sooner or later, they'll just completely ban you from ever speaking to Albus, you know that right?" She looked down at her feet. She thought about painting them sometime, maybe a nice soft pink colour. She looked at Scorpius with a smile as he asked what she wanted to talk to him about. "Um.. well, this is kinda awkward.. but I wanted to say that.. I kinda like you.." She said, swallowing the lump in her throat, and keeping her eyes trained at her feet. "And I don't mean, in a friendly way. I mean, I do like you as a friend, but also.. Also more." She said, keeping her head bowed. She didn't want to see the look on his face, because she expected it to be strange, just because she hadn't spoken to Scorpius at all, and the only time she had really was when he was with Albus and she was tagging along.
